Washington in Wellington. United Way also announced its expansion of a free book program in Sumner County for preschool children.The service center will house various nonprofit agencies providing services to Sumner County residents.â€œWe are very pleased to bring United Way to Sumner County and we will be active in accomplishing our mission here to identify community needs and bring together resources to meet those needs,â€ said Patrick J. Hanrahan, president and CEO of United Way of the Plains. â€œWeâ€™re also pleased to expand our free book program to Sumner County. We want every child to experience the joy of books even if their families cannot afford them. We know if children get exposed to reading early, they will learn more quickly and every aspect of their lives will benefit.â€Since 2011, United Way has been funding a program called the Dolly Parton Imagination Library for Andover and parts of Wichita.
